What if Lucifer never rose again? How much of Sam and Dean's lives would have changed?

Blood was thicker than water and the death of Ruby proved that. And while Sam's change of heart should have been a cause for celebration, it was not enough to mend the rift that had started to open between the brothers. Dean forgave, but he never forgot. When both brothers start to go their separate ways Sam, once more, drifts down the wrong path and finally Dean walks away from him for the last time.
With the brothers living very separate lives, neither of them could prevent the unthinkable years in the future. Lucifer has been freed. Many years down the road both brothers leave behind nothing more but a legacy and a world in pieces. Hell is in uproar and Heaven is trying to turn back time. The Winchester offspring is sent back to the past to prevent the brothers from ever going down the wrong path... and they haven't come alone.
Evil has found a way to follow the Winchesters back in time and will stop the Winchesters once and for all. With the threat of demons from the future looming over their heads, they race against the time and against one of Dean's sons, corrupted by evil. All the while the angels argue amongst themselves, trying to figure out just who opened the rift that allowed the children to slip through, breaking a cardinal rule.
Will the Winchester kids be able to stop the feud that separates the brothers or will Lucifer reign over humanity for an eternity?
