Greystone was built back in 1876. Doctors first believed then that it was infections that caused the mental illnesses that many of the patients suffered. The doctors would try and treat them by removing teeth and many other parts of their bodies that could have possibly been infected. They had hundreds of deaths that aren’t known to the public and an on site graveyard to hold them all. Most bodies are piled on top of each other because they ran out of room for the rest in the early 1900’s. Now they just simply cremate the rest to save space. The patients are treated brutally and the high-risks have it the worst. They are constantly restrained and locked alone in solitary. Today, however, instead of treating all patients with non-practiced surgeries and tests most are treated with experimental pills. It’s not known to the public that the patients are treated as guinea pigs and the doctors and orderly don’t talk. They know and understand the consequences of what could happen if they do happen to squeal.
Back in 1992 an orderly was planning on retiring and had it set in mind that he was going to leave and tell the public of what treatment exactly went on inside the thick walls of Greystone. Before he was able to leave however, a doctor had him drugged and locked inside with patients. The orderly himself had become a patient and was brainwashed into thinking it was where he belonged, and that he himself was as crazy as the rest of them. So you see you can never leave the walls of Greystone and once you arrive you’ll have little to no communication with the outside world again. Whoever sent you here wanted you gone and to come back cured, but little did they know you wouldn’t be coming back at all.
